January. Chronicle of Events: New Home of Kiev Regional Federation and Victory of National Team of Veterans at Tournament in Georgia

Despite the period of holidays and winter holidays, football life in Ukraine did not stop in January.

The coaches celebrated their colleagues - last year's winners. A new office of the Kyiv Region Football Federation was opened. International matches were played by futsal and youth teams, and veterans playing under the blue and yellow flag even won a representative international tournament.

January 6. The new head coach received the national team of Ukraine among veterans. Anatoliy Demyanenko, who led the team for four years, accepted the offer of FC Nitra from Slovakia and returned to professional football, with Volodymyr Lozynskyi leading the national team.

January 7-8. The youth national team of Ukraine (U-17) in futsal played two away friendly matches with Portuguese peers. In the first meeting Vitaly Odegov's wards drew with rivals - 2:2, and in the second conceded - 3:5.

January 12-15. The Ukrainian women's futsal team competed in the Lviv Freedom Cup with the participation of six teams. During the group stage, Oleg Shaitanov's wards defeated Hungary (5:1) and Finland (5:2), however, in the final duel lost to Italy (2:4). 

January 16. It took place in the premises of the capital hotel "Rus" The third traditional gala ceremony awarding the winners of the year in five nominations, which are determined by the All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches. The ceremony was attended by many well-known experts, in particular, the first vice-president of UAF Oleg Protasov and the head of the coaching association Mykola Pavlov.

Honorary prizes were awarded to: the best coach of the Premier League - Alexander Ryabokon; the best coach of the first league - Serhiy Kovalets; the best coach of the second league - Vasyl Malik; the best coach in amateur football is Serhiy Solovyov and the best coach in student football is Vasyl Ivegesh.

January 17. The solemn meeting of the Kiev Regional Football Federation, during which the new office of the main football body of Kyiv region was officially opened.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Ukrainian Football Association, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko, who in his speech noted the development of football in Kyiv region in recent years, which has led to success at the national level. "Football of Kyiv region plays an important role in the activities of the national association. And so it is very nice that for the first time in history the organization will have its own Football House. I have no doubt that life will be in full swing here in the future and fateful decisions will be made for all Ukrainian football, ”Andriy Pavelko emphasized.

January 20. With victory, the Ukrainian veteran team returned from the tournament in Georgia. David Petriashvili Memorial was held for the fourth time, and the national team of Ukraine is its permanent participant. This year, blue and yellow became the winners of the Legends Cup for the first time, featuring stars of the past years from the leading European football powers.

January 15-21. U-16 Youth Team of Ukraine presentedexperimental lineup, performed in Turkey at the Aegean Cup. According to the results of the group tournament, Serhiy Nagornyak's wards are preparing for Euro-2021 (U-17) qualifying round., took third place, and in the butt match gave way to the team of Tanzania and finished sixth.

January 31. The Futsal Ukraine national team flew to Belgrade to participate in the elite 2020 World Cup selection round. As a result of the draw Ukrainians are in Group B, where they will meet with teams from Spain, Serbia and France.

The winners of each of the four groups of the elite round will go directly to the World Cup. Teams that will take second place in the groups will go to the playoffs, which will play two more tours of the mundial.
