Euro 2020. All details of the stay of the national team of Ukraine in Bucharest are the home of our team during the tournament

As required by the rules of the final tournament of the European Championship, the national team of Ukraine will arrive at the selected camp for the Euro at least five days before the starting game. 

Gate of Euro-2020 

The plane with the national team will take over not the main airport of Romania "Otopeni", but the resort "Aurel Vlaicu", located within Bucharest, in an area called Benyas, which is why most locals call it that. Until 1968 (the discovery of "Otopeni"), "Benyasa" was the main air gate of Romania.

And now the numbers speak for themselves: the resort's annual passenger traffic is only 22, while the main airport serves 41 million passengers a year.

After the European Championship, Aurel Vlaiku will be opened for commercial flights, which will serve up to 350 customers during the year. 

Advantages for exclusive service 

However, the attractiveness of the city airfield is different - small business jets arrive here, which the staff maintains extremely quickly and professionally, significantly reducing passport and customs procedures. Euro organizers deliberately choose local airports, if any, in the host cities, so that the participating teams are not delayed after the flight.

The team bus will go straight to the plane on which the national team of Ukraine will arrive in Bucharest. 

Then, having descended from the ladder of the aircraft, the blue-yellows, without going to the terminal, will be able to go to their location - the resort "Caro". By the way, another obvious advantage of "Benyasy" - proximity to the hotel: 5 km against 13, if you go from "Otopeni". 

Around the world trip and an architectural highlight

"Aurel Vlaiku" has an interesting story. In 1920, the office of one of the world's oldest airlines was opened here - the Franco-Romanian CFRNA, the forerunner of the famous Air France. The following year, Bucharest became one of seven stops on the historic first Paris-Istanbul transcontinental passenger flight operated by CFRNA. 

In 10 years, the resort has experienced another landmark event, becoming the place of start and finish of the round-the-world air journey of a passenger liner, organized by the Turkish airline. And in the early 50's of the last century, "Benyasa" acquired the features of an architectural feature of Bucharest, when the airport terminal was built in the form of a propeller with three blades.

Ukrainian base for Euro 

The Caro resort, located a 15-minute drive from the center of the Romanian capital on a 5-hectare site, will be home to the blue-and-yellows for Euro time.

The complex has 190 rooms, about 70 of which will be rented by the Ukrainian delegation. Players, coaches and team staff will be located on two floors in one of the blocks of the complex. The team will have its own separate entrance to the building. One of the hotel's restaurants will be reserved for the Ukrainian team for the time being. Like the hall for theoretical classes, it is located in the same wing of the building. There is also a room with equipment and massage. Everything is close by and under the protection of security, which UEFA directives sends to the location of each team participating in the final tournament.

Apartments for the team 

Hotel rooms deserve special attention, because this is where players will spend a lot of time. Rooms are spacious, with large comfortable beds and comfortable household items. These include, for example, a coffee machine, a Bluetooth speaker and a smart home mini-tablet that allows you to adjust the brightness of many lighting devices, order cleaning, room service or select the Do Not Disturb feature.

Gym and pool 

A large gym and six 25-meter pool paths are located in the adjacent block, which players will enter through a convenient tunnel directly from the corridor where their rooms are located. Exercise machines and a swimming pool can be used by all hotel guests, as well as holders of annual passes, but a separate gym will be reserved for team blue-yellow fitness classes.

Green area 

A special attraction of the resort - the green area. Cozy alleys between spreading trees in combination with picturesque meadows on the shore of the lake create a feeling of peace and comfort. Such an atmosphere should contribute to a good recovery and removal from the humor of the football festival, which is very important for preparing the team for matches.
