The IV Open Cup of the Association of Football of the Crimea started in Kherson
The matches of the first round of the traditional tournament "Open Cup AsociFootball Championship of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea ”, which is being held for the fourth time this year.
The competition is held by the Football Association of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea under the auspices of the UAF. The winner of the first two draws was "Mir" from Gornostayivka, last year the cup was won by Kherson "Crystal".
The tournament is held under the slogan "Crimea is Ukraine!" and is an important social project aimed at supporting migrants from the occupied peninsula and preserving the best football traditions of the autonomy.
On the eve of the start of the competition, the participants were addressed by the President of the Ukrainian Football Association, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko. "Such competitions are the best example of the fact that the football of the Ukrainian Crimea is actively developing and in the future will give us many more bright triumphs and achievements," said, in particular, the President of the UAF. "I sincerely wish all participants of the tournament interesting football, valuable gaming experience and victories!"

This year, four teams representing different districts of Kherson region started the competition. Tavria Simferopol, Krystal Kherson, Energia Nova Kakhovka and Tavria Novotroitskoye are competing for the cup. From March 2 to 6, the teams will hold a single-round tournament, the results of which will determine the winner of the trophy. In the first round the victory was celebrated by teams from Kherson and Nova Kakhovka.
