The UEFA CORE 45 arbitrators have undergone training at UEFA Headquarters

Three Ukrainian women arbitrators - Sofia Prychyna, Anastasia Voloshchuk and Iryna Chaika - became participants of UEFA CORE 45 courses, which took place from 18 to 27 February in Nyon, Switzerland.

In total, the courses were attended by representatives of six countries: Italy, Albania, Finland, Russia, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

The event was led by UEFA Arbitration Committee member Dagmar Damkova and seven experienced coaches from across Europe.

The speakers noted that for successful arbitration you need to have theoretical knowledge, the appropriate level of physical fitness, as well as a good knowledge of English.

The course participants took a test of knowledge of the rules of the game in English, but the main test for them was a test to determine the level of physical fitness - Yo-Yo for referees and Ariet for assistant referees. UEFA's physical training experts stressed that it is now important for female referees to be physically fit on a par with men, as they are actively involved in matches among men's teams of different levels.

One of the brightest presentations was a lecture by the head of the UEFA Referees Committee Roberto Rosetti on the VAR system and its development in European football.

The real highlight of the course was the performance of the best referee in the world in 2019 among women, Frenchwoman Stephanie Frappar, who shared with young colleagues her experience of arbitration and the history of a difficult sport.

Our representatives demonstrated their high level of training on the football field - both in training and during matches of local teams.

We will add that over the next six months the young referees will have a lot of work to do, after which a consolidation course will take place in Nyon in September this year.
