Andriy Pavelko: "I believe that in the future UEFA Congress will be held in Ukraine"

The 44th UEFA Congress was held in Amsterdam, attended by Andriy Pavelko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association, Member of the UEFA Executive Committee.

Ukraine at the event in delegate status was also represented by UAF Secretary General Yuri Zapisotsky, UAF First Vice Presidents Oleg Protasov and Vadim Kostyuchenko.

Following the work of the UEFA Congress the following decisions were made: The UEFA Annual Report 2018-2019 is approved, the financial results of the 2018-2019 season have been approved, the budget for the financial year 2020/2021 has been approved and the UEFA Statutes have been amended and will enter into force on 1 July 2020. Congressional delegates ratified the structure of the UEFA Judiciary and the structure of the UEFA Committee on Governance and Compliance. The Congress also supported the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, taken the day before, to hold the next UEFA Congress in Minsk.

After the congress, the President of the UAF Andriy Pavelko said that he was grateful to the President of the Union Alexander Cheferin and colleagues for the honor to represent Ukraine in the Presidium of the highest governing body of UEFA. The UAF President also called symbolic the fact that this year marks exactly 60 years since the founding of the European Football Championship. "It is also symbolic that the UEFA Congress took place in Amsterdam, where our national team will start in the final part of the continental championship, which is only 101 days away. The decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, adopted the day before and supported by the Congress today, to hold the next UEFA Congress in the capital of our Belarusian neighbors, Minsk, is also significant. I believe that in the future the UEFA family will visit Kyiv for a high-level meeting. "
