Championship of Ukraine (U-19): Turkish business of Dynamo and Shakhtar and local success of Kolos and Carpathians

Following the participants of the youth championship of Ukraine, the U-19 team is also preparing to resume its tournament. March 6 - start of the second part of the tournament. Dynamo spent the winter here at the top of the table, although the leaders of Kyiv are only conditional: Shakhtar, which is second, is only one point behind, but has a match in hand.

The winter preparations of both contenders for the championship differed, although both went to the training camp in Turkey, because Dynamo still continued to play in the UEFA Youth League, so they were preparing for it at the same time, but the Pitmen in the fall loudly flew out of the Eurocup after the group round.

Kyiv coach Ihor Kostiuk divided the training into two stages. At the first, home, friendly matches were played with various Ukrainian teams. First, the team met with a well-known "colleague" in the championship, "Colossus" U-19, and defeated him - 4: 0. Then there were sparring matches with amateur "Juniors" (1: 0) and "Mercury" (10: 0) and a trip to Turkey. There were matches with foreign rivals: Turkish "Altinord" (1: 1), German "Victoria 1889" (2: 0) and Turkish "Alanyaspor" (8: 0). But in the playoffs of the UEFA Youth League with Zagreb's Dynamo Kyiv on their field did not cope - they didn't even score (0: 0), they didn't score from the penalty spot, so they dropped out of the tournament.

We will add that during preparation in "Dynamo" two players of attack - Vladislav Vanat and Vladislav Veleten were injured, Nikolay Mikhailenko is still recovering from injury, and here Artem Kulakovsky passed to "Vorskla".

There is traditionally little news about Shakhtar's junior winter work. At the home stage of training, four sparring matches were planned (in one of them the miners lost to the second league "Polissya" - 2: 3), then a 10-day training camp was to take place in Turkey.

In third place in the table is "Vorskla". But she will probably think more about maintaining this position than about interfering in the golden race. Many players attended the training camp in Turkey together with the youth team of Poltava, others under the leadership of Alexander Chizhov and with a large number of potential newcomers watched sparring at home (3: 2 with "Alexandria" U-19, 0: 0 with "Dnipro-1 »U-19, 1: 3 with IC" Poltava "). It should be noted that recently Chizhov's assistants were Oleg Krasnopyorov and Vladimir Popov, who previously worked in the youth team "Vorskla".

It should also be noted that many teams from the junior championship were welcome guests at various tournaments. And let the young footballers not win resounding victories there - after all, they had to face the senior performers from the first, second and amateur leagues - they did not remove their feet.

And some teams can even boast of local successes: "Kolos" reached the playoffs of the Makarov Memorial, "Karpaty" did the same at the Ernest Just Memorial, fought with dignity in other tournaments "Metalurg", "Zorya" and "Lviv".
