Kirill Krutorogov: "It was a little strange to comment on the Ukrainian national team with Messi, Zidane and Mbapp in the lineup"

Famous Ukrainian commentator Kirill Krutorogov shared his impressions of working on a cyber-football match between Alexander Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy. 

March 27 on YouTube-A cyberfootball match between Oleksandr Zinchenko, representing Ukraine's football team, and Benjamin Mendy, defending the honor of the French national team, was broadcast on the UAF channel.

The cyber-football confrontation between Ukraine and France took place on the FIFA'20 platform and ended with the success of Zinchenko's team in a series of two victories (6: 1, 5: 1). 

The commentator of the match Kirill Krutorogov shared his impressions: “This is my first experience of working on virtual matches. The difference with ordinary football, of course, is very big. I am a devoted fan of traditional football and I can't imagine my life without it. But in the current circumstances, such events for fans, athletes, journalists and commentators are an occasion to diversify the daily quarantine and feel the drive, albeit from virtual, but football. The differences in work are enormous, but not for the worse. " 

"It was a bit strange to comment on the Ukrainian national team with Messi, Zidane and Mbappe in the lineup. But this match was officially organized by the UAF and the French side, led by representatives of these teams. The most important thing is that our virtual team won. This is the most important thing. When I commented, I imagined that real players of the national team of Ukraine play in our T-shirts, ”the commentator said. 

"I will say frankly - I did not have enough time to understand the management, some nuances and chips of the game itself. So I tried to combine the commentary of the football match with a somewhat entertaining format, to give a certain drive to the fans so that they would support our team and enjoy the final result. I did not intend to analyze very deeply how the same Zinchenko works with the joystick.

As for me, I always support all interesting initiatives. When I am invited to take part in them, it is very nice. This also applies to cyber football. I hope that the coronavirus pandemic will decline in the near future and that great traditional football will return to our stadiums. I hope that we, the commentators, will have a lot of usual work, and the fans will have a large selection of matches to watch. In the meantime, I recommend everyone to stay at home, play virtual games and not risk their own health and the health of their loved ones. I hope that the situation will soon return to normal, and people will be able to find time for cyber football, as well as for the joys of spending time outdoors, for big and amateur sports, "said Kirill Krutorogov.
