FIFA President Gianni Infantino: "No match, no competition, no league endangers human life"

FIFA President Gianni Infantino addressed 211 member associations, noting priorities in supporting football during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The main priority is health. I urge everyone to adhere to it, - noted, in particular, Gianni Infantino. - No match, no competition, no league is worth the risk of one human life. It would be more than irresponsible to force the competition to resume if there is no absolute security. If we have to wait a little longer, we have to do it. Better a poor horse than no horse at all.

FIFA has a good reputation in the financial markets. This has helped us consolidate a strong foundation with large reserves. But our reserves are not FIFA's money. This is football money. So when football is needed, we have to think about what we can do to help. This is our responsibility and our duty.

I am convinced that football plays a key role in bringing people together when it is safe to play with friends and family. Let's prepare for this moment. FIFA is with you in these difficult times, and together we will win! ”
