Workshop on protocol developing of quarantine exit was held at the Football House

Today in the Football House chaired by the first vice-presidents of the Ukrainian Football Association Oleg Protasov and Vadym Kostyuchenko a meeting was held to develop a medical protocol that will regulate the exit of clubs from quarantine. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the UAF Referees Committee and the UAF Sports and Medical Committee, UPL, PFL and the football union.

The participants of the meeting discussed various aspects and options for resuming the training process in clubs and the mandatory requirements that will have to be met by players, coaches, administrators and FC employees. There was also a preliminary discussion of the protocol's part concerning the resumption of championships and Ukrainian Cup matches. The final document will be approved after all key medical requirements and agreement with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine are met.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, the first vice-president of UAF Oleh Protasov reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed to resume group trainings in clubs on closed bases from May 12. Providing the necessary conditions for such training is now the number one priority. "Today we discussed with colleagues how clubs should act within the framework of the medical protocol being developed. Obviously, we will have to test all the players and club staff who will be involved in the training process. Of course, we cannot take full responsibility for approving such a protocol, so we are working closely with the Ministry of Health in this regard and are waiting for approval from the ministry. We all hope that the pandemic will decline and we will be able to restore a full-fledged football life in Ukraine, "said Oleg Protasov.

"We are waiting for the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers with an explanation of all the details of quarantine mitigation, analyze it, check our draft protocol for compliance with all requirements and send it to the clubs. A separate protocol will be handed over to the referee corps, ”Vadym Kostyuchenko told about the mechanism of the beginning of football's quarantine. According to him, next week the UAF will monitor how the clubs are implementing the protocol, whether they have started training, and what difficulties they have faced at this stage. Based on these data and data from the Ministry of Health on the development of the pandemic, the following requirements will be developed for the resumption of matches of the championship and the Cup of Ukraine. "All this information will be systematized and transmitted on May 27 to UEFA - on this date a regular meeting of the executive committee of the organization is scheduled, where interim decisions will be made on national championships and European Cups of the 2019/2020 season," said Vadym Kostyuchenko.

The need for mandatory testing of all football players and club staff was confirmed by UAF Sports and Medical Committee head Vyacheslav Popov. "Today's meeting focused on the development of the necessary medical protocol for the resumption of the training process, taking into account the relevant decisions of the government, as well as the experience of Italy, Germany and Spain. The protocol will be divided into several parts. At the first stage, it is important to agree on all the main points regarding the resumption of training, in particular, the mandatory testing of all participants in the process from the clubs. Later, the protocol will be supplemented according to the necessary requirements before the start of the championship matches. Of course, the main issues in this protocol are the diagnosis of the disease - before training and two or three days before each match. In general, testing on such a scale is a very expensive measure. In addition, there is a problem with the laboratory support of the testing process, "said Vyacheslav Popov.
