A working meeting of UPL and UAF leaders with representatives of clubs took place

A working meeting with the participation of representatives of the Premier League, UPL clubs and the Ukrainian Association of Football took place today in the House of Football.

The participants of the meeting discussed a number of issues related to the resumption of the training process in clubs and options for resuming competitions. The Ukrainian Association of Football was represented at the meeting by first vice president Oleh Protasov and director of the Legal Department Ihor Hryshchenko.

"According to the first stage of the Ukrainian government's quarantine easing, the clubs have already resumed training starting on May 11. This was discussed during the meeting, as well as opportunities for the gradual resumption of the competitive process. Playing matches is possible at the next stage of quarantine mitigation.

We informed the UPL clubs that the UAF had applied to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with a request to develop a medical protocol to return to the competition. They also discussed the mandatory testing of football players and team representatives before the competition, sources of funding and logistics for such testing.

There are also questions about the number of people who can be involved in organizing and holding matches without spectators. UAF asks the Ministry of Health to increase the number in this case from 50 to 200 people. These are players, team representatives, law enforcement officers, doctors, TV broadcasters, technicians, etc., ”Ihor Hryshchenko said after the meeting.

"During the meeting in the process of constructive communication, the representatives of the clubs agreed not to resume competitions in the Ukrainian championship among the U-21 and U-19 teams. We also received confirmation from the clubs that they want to renew the championship on May 30, and to hold the matches of the last, 32nd round on July 19. It was decided to return later to determine the final date of the Ukrainian Cup final and the date of the championship play-off matches during the meeting. All these proposals will be formalized and then submitted for approval by the UAF Executive Committee, "said UPL Executive Director Yevhen Dykyi after the meeting.
