Europa League. UEFA decision on the warm-up of the 2019/2020 season

The UEFA Executive Committee, which was attended by the President of the UAF, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko, has determined the dates and venues of the Europa League matches of the 2019/2020 season.

The quarterfinals and semifinals of the Europa League 2019/2020 will take place in the playoffs in August in four German cities - Cologne, Duisburg, Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen. Both rounds will consist of one match.

It is expected that the return matches of the 1/8 finals will be held at the hosts' stadiums or in Germany. The postponed matches of the 1/8 finals between Inter - Getafe and Sevilla - Roma will consist of one match, the venues of these matches will be announced later.

UEFA Europa League 2019/2020 schedule

August 5-6 - 1/8 finals (venues are being specified).

August 10-11 - quarterfinals (Cologne, Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Gelsenkirchen).

August 16-17 - semifinals (venues are being specified).

August 21 - final (Cologne).

The matches of the 1/8 finals will start at 19.55 and 22.00 Kyiv time. The rest of the matches will start at 22.00 Kyiv time. The dates of the quarterfinals and semifinals will be announced later.

The final of the Europa League 2019/2020 was to take place in Gdansk, Poland. Now this city will host the final of the 2020/2021 tournament.

Venues for the next four Europa League finals

2020 - "Cologne", Cologne (Germany).

2021 - Gdansk Stadium, Gdansk (Poland).

2022 - Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Seville (Spain).

2023 - Pushkash Arena, Budapest (Hungary).

The basic principles of the UEFA medical protocol, which are still to be finalized, were also approved. It is already known that all matches of the 2019/2020 season will be held in empty stands (without spectators).

UEFA will regularly assess the situation on the continent and liaise with local authorities to determine when spectators will be able to gradually return to the stands.

The main changes in the rules of club competitions-2019/2020

Teams will be allowed to register three new players on Schedule A for the remainder of the season, provided that these players are already registered and eligible to participate from the last registration deadline (February 3, 2020).

List A should consist of 25 players. Clubs will not be able to register new players.

In all matches of the 2019/2020 season, teams will be allowed to make five substitutions. In the 2020/2021 season, the number of replacements will be three.

The deadline for applications to participate in the UEFA Europa League 2020/2021 is August 3.

The UEFA Executive Committee has also approved the revised UEFA Europa League calendar for the 2020/2021 season.
