Officially. Ministry of Health recommends UAF to move Ukrainian Cup final from Lviv to region with "more stable epidemic situation"

The UAF received a letter signed by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov regarding the possibility of holding the final match of the Ukrainian Cup 2019/2020 season on July 8, 2020 in Lviv at the Arena Lviv. 

The document, in particular, reports: “We draw your attention to the fact that according to the analysis of the epidemic situation in the Lviv region and the city of Lviv, the incidence of coronavirus disease COVID-19 remains tense. In particular, 1196 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus were confirmed in Lviv region last week. The situation is especially difficult in Lviv, where 17 confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-23 were registered between June 574 and 19, which is 48% of all patients in the Lviv region. 

The analysis of the epidemic situation in Lviv region and the city of Lviv gives grounds to believe that the decisions of the regional commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies to reduce anti-epidemic measures, including sports, will not be applied, which could jeopardize the final match of Ukrainian Cup 2019/2020 season.

Given the above, we propose to consider the transfer of the final match of the Ukrainian Cup season 2019/2020 from Lviv to a region with a more stable epidemic situation. 

According to official data from the Ministry of Health, as of June 25, the leaders in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine are Lviv region, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Rivne and Zakarpattya regions. 

Today, the UAF Executive Committee will hold a meeting to decide on the venue of the final of the Ukrainian Cup 2019/2020, which will take place on July 8, 2020.
