The XXIII regular Congress of the Ukrainian Association of Football took place in June. The UAF Executive Committee has decided on a new contract with the head coach of the national team Andrii Shevchenko, and the UEFA Executive Committee has determined the terms and format of the resumption of international tournaments.

June 4. In the match of the 1/4 tournament of the European Nations Cup, the national team of Ukraine in cyber football in the discipline PES defeated the team of Northern Macedonia - 2: 1. The national team of Ukraine reached the semifinals of the European Nations Cup online tournament, where its opponent was Portugal, which defeated Belgium (2: 1).

June 7. In Lviv, a few hours before the XXIII Congress of the UAF took place a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association. The Executive Committee decided, in particular, on PFL competitions, Youth Football League and futsal tournaments, as well as on changes in the composition of the collective members of the UAF, the annual report on the activities of the association and the new version of the UAF Statute.

The Executive Committee recommended that the PFL immediately convene an extraordinary conference to address the issue of finishing the PFL competitions of the 2019/2020 season; approved the decisions of the Youth Football League Executive Committee and the AFU Executive Committee on the early suspension of Youth Football League and futsal competitions; supported the granting of associate membership in the UAF to the public organization "Ukrainian Electronic Football Association" and approved a new version of the UAF Charter.

June 7. The XXIII regular Congress of the Ukrainian Association of Football was held in Lviv at the Arena Lviv stadium in compliance with the sanitary and anti-epidemic measures provided by law. Addressing the congress delegates, UAF President, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andrii Pavelko, spoke in particular about achievements of Ukrainian football during the work of the current UAF team, noted the importance of implementing VAR technology for the present and future of Ukrainian football, reminded of successes in the fight against match-fixing, also outlined strategy and main goals for the future.

June 7. Following the results of work of the XXIII Congress of UAF a briefing was held, where Andrii Pavelko announced the decision of the UAF Executive Committee on a new contract with the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andrii Shevchenko.

"I would like to inform you that the UAF Executive Committee has just voted to extend the contract with the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andrii Shevchenko and his staff until December 31, 2022", - Andriy Pavelko said.

The UAF president also expressed his position on the end of the season in the First league: “We have already returned football to the UPL, allowed regional associations to resume competition. Now it is very important that the First and Second leagues make the appropriate decision. My personal position is that we have already done - we have instructed the UAF Referees Committee to prepare for the matches of the First and Second leagues of the current season. Also at the UAF Executive Committee today, we voted to recommend convening a PFL Conference, which should decide on all issues related to the possible resumption of the season. "

June 7. Within the framework of the briefing held following the results of the XXIII Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association, a memorandum was signed on cooperation between the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andrii Shevchenko and the national network of Epicenter shopping malls.

The purpose of the memorandum is the interaction and coordination of Andriy Shevchenko and Epicenter K LLC in the promotion and development of football in Ukraine, directing joint efforts to increase interest in football events in the regions of the country and abroad.

June 12. The Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football approved the decision regarding the resumption of the tournament in the First league and the early end of the championship among the teams of the Second league.

The UAF Executive Committee supported the decision of the PFL Conference of June 11 on the early completion of the tournament in the Second league and the resumption of the First league championship, as well as on amendments to the PFL Competition Regulations and approval of the First league remaining schedule.

Also during the meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee, a number of decisions were announced on the new schedule of tournaments for clubs and national teams. Approved the procedure for drawing the qualifying tournament for the 2022 World Cup in the European zone, the dates of the qualifying round play-off matches have been changed European Futsal Championship-2022, the decision on qualification and the final tournament was made European Women's Futsal Championship and on dates European Futsal Championship among the U-19 youth teams, approved new Euro format among girls' national teams WU-17 and WU-19, determined format of the European Championship 2020/2022 among young people under 19 and canceled drawing of the Cup of Regions season-2020/2021.

The semifinals of the Ukrainian Football Cup among amateur teams of the 2019/2020 season will take place on July 8 and 15. June 26. The Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football approved by Kharkiv USC Metalist the venue of the final of the Cup of Ukraine, which will be held on July 8, 2020. Following the meeting, the committee put to a vote and decided to apply to the UAF Executive Committee with a proposal to renew the Ukrainian football championship among women's teams of the major league of the 2019/2020 season.

UAF First Vice-President Vadym Kostyuchenko stressed that the current epidemiological situation in Ukraine is caused by COVID-19, but by reacting in time and stopping all youth competitions, we hope that the next season in the most popular football sector will begin. with the planned schedule in September this year, of course, if there are no complications in our country caused by the coronavirus. And competitions will begin in three leagues, namely - in the Elite League, the top and first leagues of the championship of Ukraine among the teams of children's and youth sports institutions.

Also throughout the month, the Ukrainian Football Association and regional associations continued to implement an initiative to help combat the spread of coronavirus. Support was provided to football veterans, medics, the military and other categories of citizens in need. In particular, in the framework of cooperation between the UAF and the Main Military Clinical Hospital in a medical institution UAF President and UEFA Executive Committee Member Andriy Pavelko visited together with the head coach of the national team Andriy Shevchenko, the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko and the representative of the Epicenter company Taras Gerega.
