UAF team played a friendly match of the Challenge Cup against the national team of Ukrainian journalists

On Tuesday, July 2, in honor of the International Day of Sports Journalist on one of the artificial fields NTK them. V. Bannikov held a friendly match between the team of the Ukrainian Football Association and the team of sports media, the main prize of which for several years in a row is the transitional Challenge Cup.

International Sports Journalist's Day has been celebrated at the initiative of the International Sports Press Association since 1995. And for several years now, the Ukrainian Football Association and the Association of Sports Journalists of Ukraine have been holding a friendly football match on this holiday.

Before the meeting, the captain of the home team, President of the Ukrainian Football Association, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko greeted the media. "It's very nice to play football in such an atmosphere. UAF is always open to communication with journalists, who each time receive complete and comprehensive information about what is happening in the world of football. And the current friendly meeting is a confirmation of our friendly relations, "Andriy Pavelko said.

The UAF team, led by the organization's first vice-president Anatoliy Demyanenko and consisting of UAF president Andriy Pavelko, first vice-president of the association Vadym Kostyuchenko, DUFLU president, MP Vitaliy Bort, chairman of the Kyiv regional football association Andriy Drought, coaches of the youth national teams of Ukraine Vasyl Kardash and Vitaliy Reva, gave journalists a real fight. As a result, the first half of the match seemed tense and ended in a draw - 1: 1.

The rivals also played after the break, once again upsetting each other. As a result, a battle draw - 2: 2, which turned the game into a series of post-match penalties. In the football lottery, luck smiled on journalists, and the hero of the series was the goalkeeper of the media Myroslav Nebesnyk (TV channel "Football"), who hit three 11-meter and was named the best goalkeeper of the match. Dmytro Dubas (a well-known blogger) was named the best defender, and well-known commentator and journalist Viktor Vacko was named the best player. The best scorer was Maryan Yaskiv (two goals in the goal of the media). It should be noted that the legendary Valentin Shcherbachov also appeared on the field in the team of journalists, and it was headed by the president of ASZHU Oleksandr Hlyvynsky.

After the meeting, Andriy Pavelko said: “A wonderful football holiday, which was another victory over the COVID-19 pandemic, the special enthusiasm with which the teams competed for the trophy, only confirms how much we all missed football. I am happy that after the resumption of the championship, the Cup of Ukraine, matches in the first league, as well as the decision of the UAF Executive Committee today to resume competitions among women's teams of the major league, such matches are taking place in the country. This is extremely important both for our football family and for journalists who have dedicated their lives to covering football and sports in general.
