Before the start of the European Cups of the 2020/2021 season: calendar of draws and matches of the Champions League and Europa League

Today, July 17, the European Cup campaign of the 2020/2021 season begins with the draw of the first preliminary stage of the Champions League. The matches of the starting stage of the competition will take place on August 8 and 11.

Back in June, the Executive Committee of the Union of European Football Associations, which was attended by the President of the UAF, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko, decided that the qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League of the 2020/2021 season will consist of one match (except for the playoffs of the Champions League qualifying round). The draw will determine which clubs will play in their stadium.

Calendar of the Champions League 2020/2021 this year

Preliminary round: draw - July 17, matches - August 8 and 11.

The first qualifying round: draw - August 9, matches - August 18/19.

Second qualifying round: draw - August 10, matches - August 25/26.

Third qualifying round: draw - August 31, matches - September 15/16.

Play-off round: draw - September 1, matches - September 22/23 and September 29/30.

Group stage: draw - October 1, matches - October 20/21 and 27/28, November 3/4 and 24/25, December 1/2 and 8/9.

Europa League Calendar 2020/2021 this year

Preliminary round: draw - August 9, matches - August 20.

The first qualifying round: draw - August 10, matches - August 27.

Second qualifying round: draw - August 31, matches - September 17.

Third qualifying round: draw - September 1, matches - September 24.

Play-off round: draw - September 18, matches - October 1.

Group stage: draw - October 2, matches - October 22 and 29, November 5 and 26, December 3 and 10.

The draw for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League 2020/2021 and the 1/16 finals of the Europa League 2020/2021 will take place on December 14 this year.

Representation of Ukraine

Our association will be represented on the international arena by five clubs. Shakhtar, as the winner of the Premier League, has a ticket to the group stage of the Champions League. The winner of the UPL silver medals will go to the third qualifying round of the Champions League. Ukraine will delegate three clubs to the Europa League. One FC will start from the second qualification, third qualification and group stages.
