The youth national team of Ukraine has not played on the field since November 2019. Euro 2021 qualifying matches were scheduled (U-21) at the end of March, Valery Lobanovsky's Tournament - at the end of May, friendly match with the Italians - at the beginning of June.

But due to quarantine, all these games had to be postponed until better times - in the fall. The UPL championships in the U-19 and U-21 categories also ended ahead of schedule. And without game practice it is impossible to progress.

However, at the end of the season we saw the debuts of a large number of young players in the main squads of UPL clubs. We have already talked about the guys 2003-2004 years of birth, of 2002 and of 2001. Now it's the turn of the generation born in 2000 - some of them are already actively involved in the games of the national team of Ukraine U-21 by its head coach Ruslan Rotan.

Although the basic age categories of his team in the selection of Euro-2021 (U-21) - 1998-1999 years of birth, there are talents of younger age, who are already ready to play in the youth national team of Ukraine. And in the next qualifying round - Euro-2023 (U-21) - it is the boys born in 2000-2001 who will form the backbone of the renewed "youth".

In the 2019/2020 season, 23 Ukrainian football players born in 2000 came on the field for at least one minute in the UPL. Only two spent more than 1000 minutes - Vladislav Supryaga and Oleksandr Nazarenko (both - "Dnipro-1"). Four scored goals, and Supryaga entered the top 3 top scorers of the championship, which ended. For a 20-year-old striker - a great figure.

Note that the first player born in 2000, Vladislav Dmitrenko ("Volyn"), played in the UPL in the 2016/2017 season. In the 2017/2018 season, we saw three players born in 2000 in the UPL, and in the 2018/2019 season - 16 at once, and four of them were legionnaires.

In the current championship, the number of legionnaires of this generation has increased to 10. Four debutants of the 2018/2019 season played - Tete (Shakhtar, February 15.02.2000, 26; 1584 matches / 8 minutes / 13.06.2000 goals), Marcos Antonio (Shakhtar, June 21, 1377; 2/23.06.2000/19), Ibrahim Kane Vorskla, June 1576, 1; 01.05.2000/13/538) and Nadzheeb Yakubu (Vorskla, May 1, 24.11.2000; 16/412/0), in addition, six UPL newcomers: Velves, Lviv, November 13.11.2000, 8; 225/0/11.04.2000), Hisham Leius (Karpaty, 6; 95/0/02.02.2000), Felipe (Lviv, 4; 287/0/08.10.2000), Vitao, Shakhtar, 4. 191; 0/03.01.2000/2), Kirill Kirilenko (Karpaty, October 52, 0; XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX) and Ibrahim Kargbo (Dynamo, January XNUMX, XNUMX; XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX).
