Open Fun Football Schools volunteers have started training

On August 17, in Zaporizhzhya, the training of volunteers of the UAF project Open Fun Football Schools, which helps displaced children from Donbass and Crimea with the support of the European Union, started.

At three seminars to be held in Zaporizhzhya from August 17 to 23 for representatives of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kyiv regions, project volunteers will prepare for a new format of events adapted to all sanitary and anti-epidemic measures.

Before the start of the event, where participants also comply with the conditions of quarantine restrictions, a press conference was held in the conference hall of the Zaporizhshya hotel Reikartz.

"I would like to congratulate all teachers, coaches, school psychologists and juvenile prevention police officers who have found an opportunity to come at such a difficult time to improve their skills in working with boys and girls who need the most attention. I would also like to thank the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, which continues to support our important social project", - said Vadym Kostyuchenko, the UAF First Vice President, greeting the seminar participants.

The national coordinator of the project from the Ukrainian Association of Football Yevhen Stolitenko, the Deputy Head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration Oleksandr Svystun and the Head of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Football Association Viktor Mezheiko spoke at the press conference.

It has already become a good tradition to start a new season of Open Fun Football Schools in Zaporizhzhya. For our part, we will do our utmost to promote seminars at the highest level. We have a lot of towns and villages in the Zaporizhzhya region that want to become participants in the project”, - Viktor Mezheiko emphasized.

Oleksandr Svystun noted the importance of social integration of IDPs into local communities and assured that the local authorities will provide support in the development of the project in Zaporizhzhya region.

During the press conference, all those present were presented with a new promotional video about the project and a new guide for volunteers, where they can learn new interesting exercises and games.

After the press conference, the participants had interesting practical classes from the best Ukrainian experts.

Physical education teachers, youth coaches, school psychologists and juvenile prevention police officers will train their assistants in the regions - youth leaders who would become the future volunteers of the project.
