Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Andriy Pavelko attended the first match of the revived Kryvbas and inspected the football infrastructure of Kryvyi Rih

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko attended the Ukrainian Cup match between Kryvbas and Cherkasy Region, which took place in Kryvyi Rih and became the first official match for the revived club.

During the visit to Kryvyi Rih, the high-ranking guests also talked to Kryvbas footballers and coaches before the important match, visited the Metallurg Stadium, where the project of complex reconstruction of this football arena took place. The Head of State and President of the UAF, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko also discussed the situation of a number of major football clubs in Ukraine, including FC Metalist Kharkiv, FC Chornomorets Odessa, FC Karpaty Lviv, FC Tavriya Simferopol and others.

According to Andriy Pavelko, the project of reconstruction of Metalurh's native stadium in Kryvyi Rih in Kryvyi Rih will be implemented in accordance with UEFA standards and envisages that after its completion the arena will be able to host matches of the Ukrainian Cup final and national team matches.

"A professional club starts with a football school. Therefore, it was extremely interesting to visit the club school "Kryvbas 84", to talk to young students and future stars of "Kryvbas" and the national teams of Ukraine.

First of all, for the sake of these future champions, to whom we presented brand new balls and who shone with joy that day, it was worth preserving and reviving the great name of the Kryvbas football club! And the football community of the city and the whole country thanks the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for the fact that this initiative was implemented. Kryvyi Rih has every chance to become one of the football centers of our country again! ” - Andriy Pavelko told about the visit to Kryvyi Rih.

The President of the UAF also noted that it is important that the Head of State sincerely supports all Ukrainian football. "I am glad that our views coincide on the fact that in every major city of Ukraine there should be a powerful club that will play in the football elite," said the president of the UAF.
