Euro-2021 (U-21). Ukraine easily dealt with Finland in Helsinki

Ruslan Rotan's wards decided the fate of the match in the first 45 minutes.

The match of the Euro-2021 (U-21) qualifying tournament against Finland for Ukraine was crucial for at least two reasons. First, the blue and yellows wanted to take revenge for the home defeat, and secondly, the victory in Helsinki could bring them to third place in the standings.

Compared to the match against Denmark, the coach of the Ukrainian team Ruslan Rotan made three substitutions in the starting lineup: instead of Bilyk, Trubin took the position in goal, and the coach refreshed the wings of the attack, where Tsitaishvili and Nazarenko replaced Lunyov and Topalov.

From the first minutes the guests marked their advantage. Sikan beat dangerously, then Topalov had a shot on goal. Finns rarely reached the Ukrainian box. And already in the middle of the half the advantage of our national team was embodied in the goal of Konoplya. 0: 1. The hosts got a little more active, but the blue and yellow defence worked well. In addition, in injury time, the guests hit the target again. In his style, ahead of Dubinchak's crossed, Sikan saw a ball getting to the net. 0: 2.

At the beginning of the second half, the opponents exchanged dangerous moments. At first, Jaaskelainen saved Buletsa shot, and a little later Soisalo was unable to beat Trubin from close range. After that moment, the initiative passed to Finland, but they had almost no really dangerous moments. But in the 77th minute, the blue and yellows could bring the score to a crushing, but Tsitaishvili, having dealt with the defense, could not beat the goalkeeper.

However, in the 86th minute the hosts still had a chance when Zabarnyi presented the ball to Valakari, but Trubin won the duel with the home midfielder. In the end - the victory of the national team of Ukraine - 2: 0. The rematch was a success!
