Women's Champions League. The format of the tournament in the 2020/2021 season has been changed

The UEFA Executive Committee, of which UAF President Andrii Pavelko is a member, has decided to change the format of the Women's Champions League for the 19/2020 season due to the situation with the COVID-2021 virus in Europe.

The purpose of this decision is to reduce risks by giving UEFA, clubs and national associations more time to adapt to changing circumstances and to prepare more carefully for matches, away games and the implementation of the UEFA football return protocol.

According to to the official UEFA website, in the women's Champions League of the 2020/2021 season, the mini-tournaments in the previous round will be replaced by two rounds of the playoffs, where all confrontations will consist of one match. In the first qualifying round (November 3/4) 40 clubs will play, in the second (November 18/19) - 20.

The stage of the 1/16 finals has been postponed from November to December, while the remaining rounds will be held according to initial schedule.

Women's Champions League of the 2020/2021 season

1st qualifying round: November 3-4, 2020.

2st qualifying round: November 18-19, 2020.

1/16 finals: December 8-9 and 15-16, 2020.

1/8 finals: March 2021.

1/4 finals: March 2021.

1/2 finals: April 2021.

Final: May 2021.

It will be recalled that Ukraine will be represented in the Women's Champions League of the 2020/2021 season by the Higher league champion - Kharkiv "Zhytlobud-2". He will know his opponent in the first round on October 22.
