Oleg Shaitanov: "We have significantly changed the program of the training camp"

The head coach of the women's national futsal team of Ukraine Oleh Shaitanov told about the work of the team at the training camp in Brovary.

Through cancellation of international friendly matches against Portugal blue and yellow had to settle for home collection, which takes place from 9 to 15 November. Ukrainian head coach Oleg Shaitanov in an interview Futsal Association of Ukraine press service told about the personnel situation in the team and the format of its training.

— Oleg Nikolaevich, three days of gathering are behind. Tell us, in what mode does the team prepare?

- On Monday we held an evening training. It is obvious to the naked eye that the girls missed futsal and being in the national team. Throughout the gathering, except Wednesday, we plan to work twice. Yesterday we held a bilateral sparring. Another such match will take place at the end of the training camp.

— Have there been any changes in the previously announced lineup?

- So. Our plans were slightly changed by the micro-injury of Taisiya Babenko, which she received in the match between the Kharkiv Oblast-Tesla National Team and IMS-NUHT. So it was decided to give Taisiya time to recover. At the same time, Ksenia Burlachenko received her debut call to the national team.

— Three newcomers are invited to this training at once. Tell us why you focused your choice on these candidates?

- Indeed, this challenge was the first for Iryna Slavych, Anastasia Terekh and Ksenia Burlachenko. By playing for their teams, these girls deserved to be noticed and given a chance to try their hand at the national team. They train with great desire and leave a positive impression of their work.

— How did the cancellation of the matches with Portugal affect the team's training plan?

- We have significantly changed the program of the training camp. It is one thing to prepare for international friendly matches, in particular, with the Portuguese national team, it is another to prepare the national team without sparring.

— What are the next plans of the women's national team of Ukraine?

- Now it is difficult to plan something, but we will try to fill the windows of UEFA for women's futsal teams. It is still difficult to say what it will look like, friendly matches with rivals or just NTZ. We will start from the situation with the coronavirus in Ukraine and Europe.

— What is your attitude to a fairly long delay the main round and the final part of Euro-2021?

- This is a UEFA decision. We can support or oppose it, but we must accept it.
