League of Nations. The national team of Ukraine in Leipzig in the match with Germany scored first, but eventually lost

As it was in October, Andriy Shevchenko's team suffered personnel losses directly at the training camp.

He was added to the players who were eliminated earlier for various reasons in Leipzig another quartet of football playerswho passed positive tests for coronavirus. The midfield suffered the most, as all four performers who fell ill are from the middle line. Therefore, the coaches of the blue-yellows did not have the opportunity for a personnel maneuver in this chain - the striking trio of centerhaws were joined by virtually no alternative Marlos and Zubkov on the flanks. The Ferencvaros representative played his fifth match for the main team of the country, as well as the center back Zabarny, and the right defender of Konoplya - the third. But the team captain, experienced Pyatov, returned to the goal.

Germany dominated in the opening minutes and, feeling a seemingly weak spot on the right flank of the Ukrainian defense, created several situations that could end in trouble for the guests. But it didn't take long for the blue and yellows to come to their senses. From about the 8th minute, they adapted to the German pressure and began to overcome it again and again. And soon they were rewarded for their courage. Zubkov went in a stroke against several opponents and managed to throw the ball under the blow of Yaremchuk, who from under the defender irresistibly punched under the near post. 0: 1.

Feeling even more confident after the goal, the players of the national team of Ukraine led their game and had a chance to increase the advantage. After pruning rivals, Marlos and Yaremchuk ran out against one defender, but the Shakhtar player failed to give a quality pass to the Ghent representative. But the Bundestim did not forgive opponents. Zinchenko lost the ball in the other half of the field, Goretska sent Sana into the gap, he quickly beat Matvienko and scored in the bottom corner. Pyatov's jump did not help. 1: 1.

In the future, the hosts acted more sharply, although Zinchenko had a chance, who failed to tame the ball when Sable took him to the killer position. Pyatov parried Gorecki's shot into the top corner, but was powerless against Werner's shot, which was assisted by Gorecki. 2: 1. Before the break, the blue-yellows made several promising attacks, mostly on the left flank, where Sable successfully joined the attack, but his shots did not reach the goal.

After the rest, Andriy Shevchenko's wards showed a smooth transition from defense to attack, especially since the German team actually gave up pressure. In the 52nd minute, Zinchenko scored from the penalty line, and the ball bounced off the defender into the post. But closer to the middle of the second half, the Germans increased the pressure and began to enter the strike positions. Several of their attempts were blocked, but then Werner was allowed to make a double after Hinter's shot.

After that, the tension in the game subsided a bit. Marlos could have revived the intrigue, but his free-kick hit the post. Moraes was also unlucky, as he also ricocheted into the goal frame.

The defeat of the national team of Ukraine and the draw between Switzerland and Spain means that the blue and yellows failed to secure a place in Division A of the League of Nations during the round until the end of the group tournament. Now you need not lose in Switzerland.
