Information on enrollment of a technical defeat in the final series of selection to the ranks of the national team of Ukraine in cyber football Konstantin Demyanenko

The final matches took place on Sunday, December 13 selection to the ranks of the national team of Ukraine in cyber football. In the last match of the lower grid in the fight for second place in the team met Konstantin Demyanenko and Igor Lyubchak.

The series was played in the format of Best of 3 - to win the participant had to win two matches out of three possible. In the first, Konstantin Demyanenko won.

In the second match after the first half Demyanenko led - 2: 1. However, in the middle of the second half Igor Lyubchak had a technical problem related to the connection of the game console with the monitor, which led to the fact that he did not participate in the game for almost 20 minutes of playing time. The match continued, as Demyanenko controlled the ball, and Lyubchak could not pause.

The referees and organizers of the tournament were notified of the technical problems late (because Lyubchak tried to solve the problem quickly on his own), but before the end of the match. The match ended with a score of 2: 1 in favor of Demyanenko.

However, given the circumstances, the judges of the tournament turned to regulations, namely - to item 6 of the FAQ section, and made the following decision: to play in a new match exactly 20 game minutes, taking into account the fact that the score of the meeting - 2: 1 in favor of Konstantin Demyanenko, as it was at the time of technical problems.

Both athletes agreed. At the time of the 20th minute of the match, the score of the match was 1: 0 in favor of Igor Lyubchak - in total he became 2: 2, and therefore, the game had to go into extra time.

According to the proposal, it was decided to play two halves of five minutes and in case of a draw to hold a series of penalties. Both players agreed to such terms of the playoffs.

But while the technical issues of the players' own broadcasts were being resolved (in order to prevent unfair play), Konstantin Demyanenko changed his mind and refused to finish the series, as had been agreed a few minutes earlier. Because of this, the referees decided to cancel the game completely.

On Monday, December 14, after analyzing the details of the event, the chief referee decided: to replay the final series of Best of 3 between Konstantin Demyanenko and Igor Lyubchak, with a score of 1: 0 in favor of Konstantin Demyanenko, as the first game in the series before technical problems he won.

Players were offered dates to play, the time they agreed with each other. Igor Lyubchak agreed to play, and Konstantin Demyanenko refused, believing that he won honestly, and the opponent did not really have technical problems.

Given the situation regulations, namely - paragraph 8 of the FAQ section, and the refusal to comply with the decision of the tournament judge, it was decided to credit the technical defeat of Konstantin Demyanenko in the final series of Best of 3.

Based on this, Igor Lyubchak became the second player of the national team of Ukraine in cyber football.

We encourage players to continue to respect their opponents, organizers, tournament judges and their decisions.
