2021: what awaits the Ukrainian women's futsal team in the new year

In 2021, the Ukrainian women's futsal team will take part in the main qualifying round for the 2022 European Championship.

Last year, Oleg Shaitanov's wards learned rivals in the main qualifying round of Euro-2021. The blue-and-yellows were drawn in Group 3, where their opponents will be Finland, the Czech Republic and the winner of Group C of the previous qualifying round (Kazakhstan, Belgium or Gibraltar). Ukraine is the host of the quartet, in which the matches are to take place in Lviv on the floor of the Halychyna Sports Palace.

UEFA qualifying round matches suffered on October 19-24, 2021, and the final tournament itself on March 24-27, 2022. Accordingly, the women's national team of Ukraine this year will participate in the selection of Euro-2022.

Before the qualification for the European Championship, the blue-and-yellows plan to hold meetings and friendly matches in the windows allotted to UEFA. However, due to the unstable situation in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, there are no specifics yet.

"There are certain agreements, but it is difficult to say how much they will be realized. We have windows for international matches. We will try to fill them if not with friendly games, then with meetings, as it was done at the end of last year", - commented on the current situation for the official website of the UAF head coach of the women's national futsal team of Ukraine Oleg Shaitanov.
