In 2021, the national team of Northern Macedonia will take part in the qualification for the 2022 World Cup and the final part of Euro 2020.

The Balkan team is a rival of the national team of Ukraine in Group C of the final tournament of the European Championship 2020 together with the national teams of the Netherlands and Austria.

According to the official site of the Football Federation of Northern Macedonia, as of today their national team has to play 13 matches in two tournaments. The North Macedonian national team will start the year on March 25 with an away match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Romania.
