The fifth traditional annual holiday ceremony "Football Stars of Ukraine" took place - a joint initiative of the Ukrainian Association of Football and the Ukrainian Association of Professional Footballers.

This time the ceremony, due to objective circumstances, was held online, and its hosts were Oleksandra Loboda and Artem Haharin. The live broadcast of the event took place on the official UAF channel on YouTube. Virtuoso pianist Yevhen Khmara helped to create a festive atmosphere.

The honorary guest of the ceremony was the UAF President, a member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andrii Pavelko, who said: “Today we will determine the best performers, coaches and football managers of 2020 in an unusual format. We decided to hold the ceremony online due to the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Until recently, for the same reason, the ceremony was threatened with cancellation, as at one time, in the spring of 2020, the end of the championship and the Ukrainian was threatened. But thanks to close cooperation and joint efforts of the UAF, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Premier League, the Professional Football League of Ukraine and all clubs, we managed not only to complete the championship and the Ukrainian Cup on a sports basis, but also in part to return the fans to the stands. Although some European countries were forced to end the competitions early and determine the winners in the cabinets.

We also saw how selflessly the national team of Ukraine fought in every match, and we are optimistic about tomorrow's consideration of the case regarding the match Switzerland - Ukraine in CAS.

We witnessed how the Ukraine U-2022 team challenged till the end for the Euro-XNUMX qualification, and the women's national team won the right to compete in the playoffs for a ticket to the finals of Euro-XNUMX.

That is why our football heroes deserve a festive summing up of 2020 and awards and distinctions. Traditionally, in preparation for the ceremony, the best of the best were determined by their colleagues - representatives of professional clubs. This is a principled approach, which is a key rule for summing up the results of the football year.

This event will be part of a large holiday program dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UAF, which we will celebrate in December this year. "
