Friendly matches of the Ukrainian youth futsal team against Spain will not take place

The scheduled training camp of the youth futsal team of Ukraine for February and friendly matches against peers from Spain have been canceled.

At the end of last year, the head coach of the blue and yellows Vitaly Odegov announced holding a training camp in February. During this stage of training, Ukrainian youths had to play friendly matches with the Spaniards at home. However, our team had to change their plans.

"Sparring was canceled due to the fact that the Spanish youth team was banned from leaving. We have been sent an official letter in this regard. The meeting of the youth team of Ukraine scheduled for February will not take place.

Uncertainty remains about the dates of further meetings. A meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee will take place in early March to determine the fate of the youth futsal teams. After that, it will become clear what to prepare for, "Vitaliy Odegov told the official UAF website in a comment.

It should be noted that the youth national team of Ukraine is preparing for the qualifying tournament for Euro-2021, which, according to the preliminary plan, should end by March 28. The final stage with the participation of seven qualifying winners and the host country team is scheduled for October 31-November 7 this year.

We will remind that at the first in the history of Euro on futsal among young men which took place in 2019, the national team of Ukraine made the way to the final tournament where took in the group third place. And the champion was one of the offenders of the blue-yellow - .
