Valery Palamarchuk: "We will make efforts to keep our place in League A of the European Championship"

The head coach of the youth women's national team of Ukraine WU-19 Valery Palamarchuk commented for the official website of the UAF on the results of the draw of the first round of the qualifying round of the 2022 European Championship among girls under 19, according to which the blue-yellow rivals in Group 1 of League A will be players from the Netherlands, Scotland and Austria.

- Although the competitors in the ranking occupy higher positions compared to us, we will try to maintain a residence permit in the elite division, - said Valery Palamarchuk. - Immediately after the draw, I started collecting information about future counterparts, starting with the Austrians.

- Do you already know where and when this mini-tournament will take place?

- According to preliminary information, the matches of our group will be hosted by the Netherlands, and they will take place at the end of October.

- When is your team scheduled to gather?

- In August in Kyiv together with the national team of Ukraine WU-17. The last time the national teams of Ukraine of this age held official matches was in August 2019. Of course, the girls have grown up, and therefore it will be necessary to form new teams.

- And what information do you have about your future wards?

- Most of them previously played for the national team of Ukraine WU-17, which last year made its way to the elite round of the European Championship, but due to a pandemic, the final part of these competitions was not held. I know the possibilities of some girls well, and my colleague Serhiy Sapronov, who heads the national team in this age category, will provide comprehensive information about the rest.

- Can you tell which clubs will have the most representatives in the national team?

- Ladomyr from Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Nika from Mykolayiv.

- I know that you do not like to single out any of the wards, and yet, which of them will claim the role of leader?

- Probably, Yana Kotyk, who already has experience of playing for our strongest women's team - Kharkiv "Zhytlobud-2", as well as Yulia Khrystyan, Nadiya Ivanchenko and Leana Mostryanska, who are currently studying in the USA.
