Clarification of the UAF Referees Committee regarding the episodes in the match of the 19th round of the second league championship "Uzhhorod" - "Podillya"

The Committee of Referees of the Ukrainian Football Association explained some game episodes of the match of the 19th round of the second league championship of group "A" of the PFL of Ukraine Uzhhorod - Podillya.

During the duel for the ball between the defender of FC "Uzhhorod" № 27 and the striker of FC "Podillya" № 70 within the penalty area of ​​FC "Uzhhorod" the defender № 27, after a while and trying to play the ball, made illegal contact with the attacker № 70, who controlled the ball and hit / stepped on his foot, which led to the fall of the latter. The referee interpreted this episode as a simulation and issued a yellow card to the striker № 70 of FC Podillya, which did not quite correspond to what was happening on the field.

Such actions of the defender № 27 of FC Uzhhorod are defined as violations in accordance with the provisions § 1 of Regulation 12 (p. 103) and Regulation 14 (p. 123), which, subject to strict adherence to the relevant criteria for the evaluation of martial arts, require the referees to concentrate as much as possible, react immediately, take decisive action and make the right decisions. The definition of the simulation and the purpose of the corner kick in this situation do not meet the above requirements of the rules. Assigning an 11-meter kick to FC Uzhhorod's goal without any disciplinary sanctions would be an acceptable / correct decision.

The referee interpreted this episode as a game collision and awarded a corner kick.

Such a fight for the ball by the goalkeeper № 1 FC "Podillya", given the complete neglect of the safety of the opponent, in accordance with the requirements § 1 of Regulation 12 (p. 103) and Regulation 14 (p. 123), should be defined as a violation. Such circumstances require arbitrators to concentrate as much as possible and make the right, tough decisions. Assigning a corner kick in this situation does not meet the above requirements of the rules. Assigning an 11-meter kick to the goal of FC Podillya and issuing a yellow card (recklessness) to the goalkeeper № 1 would be an acceptable / correct decision.
