The coaching staff of the Austrian national team has been strengthened by 36-year-old specialist Jürgen Zoimel, who will work as an assistant head coach.

Official site of the Austrian Football Association informedthat the coach of the national team Franco Fody will have a new assistant. On May 1, he was replaced by Austrian specialist Jürgen Soimel, who will replace Imre Sabic, who headed the Hungarian Fehervar. 

Zoimel is a former Austrian midfielder who has played 20 matches for Austria. Prior to this appointment, he worked as an assistant to Marcus Shop in Hartberg. Foda's new assistant will make his debut on June 2 in a friendly match against England in Middlesbrough in preparation for Euro 2020.  

Austrian head coach Franco Foda said: “I have known Jürgen Zoimel for a long time, because I was his mentor. For the last few years, I have been closely following his career as an assistant coach. He is a strong analyst, loyal and successfully works with field players. His style is well suited to our coaching staff. "

It will be recalled that earlier the Austrian Football Association approved a calendar plan for preparing the national team for the finals of the European Championship. 

Schedule of preparation of the Austrian national team for Euro 2020

May 26 - June 7. Two-week collection (Bad Tatzmandorf, Austria).

June 8-12. Five-day collection (Seefeld, Austria).

June 2. England - Austria. Friendly match (22.00, Middlesbrough, England).

June 6. Austria - Slovakia. Friendly match (21.45, Vienna, Austria).

It should be noted that the match between the national teams of Ukraine and Austria in the framework of Euro 2020 will take place on June 21 in Bucharest (the meeting will start at 19.00). Teams from the Netherlands and Northern Macedonia will also play in Group C.
