The 2021/2022 season in the Futsal Champions League starts with today's draw of the previous round.

In the season-2021/2022 the Futsal Champions League will return to the usual format, UEFA official site reports. The tournament will be held with preliminary, main and elite rounds in the format of mini-tournaments for four teams. As before, four clubs will also take part in the final stage. It will take place in April next year at the site of one of the participants.

Four countries (Spain, Portugal, Russia and Kazakhstan) will nominate two participants each. 23 clubs, including current champion "Sporting" will receive automatic tickets to the main round. The remaining clubs, 32 of them, will start the fight from the previous round. His draw will take place today, July 7.

Format

Preliminary round

The teams with the lowest rating take part in this round. The teams will be divided into eight groups of four participants each. Sowing depends on the rating, pre-selected hosts of mini-tournaments are placed in a separate basket. The group winners and the best second team advance to the main round.

The main round

Path A

This is the path of the current champion "Sporting", the next 11 top clubs in the ranking and teams from 16th to 19th. The teams will be divided into four groups of four participants each. Four clubs are pre-appointed hosts and placed in a separate basket with sowing numbers. Teams from one country can get into one group. The top three teams from each group advance to the elite round.

Path B

This is the path of teams with a rating of 12-15 and 20-22, as well as the winners of the previous round. The teams will be divided into four groups of four participants each. Four clubs are pre-appointed hosts and placed in a separate basket with sowing numbers. The winners of the four groups advance to the elite round.

Elite round

16 clubs are divided into four groups of four participants each. Sowing will be approved before the draw. The winners of the four groups advance to the final tournament.

The final tournament

The final tournament is a knockout tournament with four teams. It will take place on the site of one of the participants on April 28-29 or April 30-May 1, 2022. The venue and exact dates, as well as the date of the draw will be known later.
