Euro-2023 (U-21). Ukraine defeated Armenia and led the group
The victory allowed Ruslan Rotan's wards to take the first place in their selection group.
After the start help in the qualifying tournament for Euro-2023 (U-21) over Serbia, the national team of Ukraine wanted to develop success in the home match against Armenia, for which it was already the third match in the group.

Compared to the first match, the head coach of the blue-and-yellows Ruslan Rotan made only one substitution in the starting lineup: instead of Mikhailenko, Mudryk came out, who missed the match in Serbia due to disqualification.
From the first minutes, the Ukrainians marked their advantage. Armenians rarely crossed the center of the field. However, there were problems with dangerous moments, and this despite the fact that in the first 10 minutes the blue-yellows served six corners. Still, we didn't have to wait long for the first goal. In the 20th minute, Nazarenko made a great pass on the right flank. Alexander dealt with four opponents at once. Gubasaryan intercepted the pass to the penalty spot, but the ball flew to Kryskiv, who hit the corner of the opponent's goal from 12 meters. 1: 0.

The goal calmed the game. The national team of Ukraine still had the ball, but without much sharpness, and the Armenians, even if they had the opportunity to score, only from a distance from the goal. However, one such blow still proved effective. Already in the time compensated for the first half, the chain of mistakes of the Ukrainians near their penalty allowed Galstyan to strike. Unfortunately, the ball hit the Owl and flew over Neschereta. 1: 1.

The debuts of the second half were not very successful for the Ukrainians, but in the 61st minute the Armenians stopped Mudryk's pass with an unauthorized reception near the penalty line. The victim himself clearly put the ball in the top corner of the goal.
After that, the guests tried to seize the initiative, but in defense of Ruslan Rotan's wards already acted more harmoniously. Moreover, to be a little more precise, Sudakov, Sich and Kukharevych, the end of the match could have turned out much calmer ...

In the final part of Euro-2023 (U-21) there will be 16 teams - Romania and Georgia as hosts of the tournament and 14 more teams that will join them based on the results of the selection (nine group winners, the best team among the second place winners and four play winners -off, which will play eight second place winners).

Final tournament: June / July 2023.
The matches of the tournament with the participation of 16 national teams will be hosted by four stadiums in Romania (two in Cluj-Napoca and two in Bucharest) and four in Georgia (in Batumi, Poti and two in Tbilisi). The opening match will take place in Romania, and the final - in Georgia.
