Friendly match. The national team of Ukraine drew with Czech Republic

In the meeting of the two quarter-finalists of Euro 2020 no stronger was found. Five players made their debut in the Ukrainian national team, and Kornienko also scored his debut goal.

The match in Plzen ended the program of the September gathering of the blue and yellows, during which they drew in the qualifying matches of the World Cup with Kazakhstan (2:2) and France (1:1). Despite the friendly status of the match, its result was important for both teams, which seek to ensure a positive mood before the official matches.

In the starting lineup of the blue-yellows there was a place for Sirota, Kacharabi and Kornienko, who made their debut for the main team of the country. The game began with attacks by the Czechs, whose serve to the penalty area created problems for the defense of Ukrainians, consisting of not very experienced performers. In the 8th minute, Tetzl won the fight against Kryvtsov, went on a date with Boyko, beat the goalkeeper and scored from a sharp angle. The episode ended with a ricochet from the same Kryvtsov hit the post.

The Blue-Yellows tried to attack quickly, but they did not manage to bring their player to a comfortable position for a long time. When the pressure of the hosts eased a bit, Petrakov's wards played a multi-pass combination, which became a great example of an effective flank game. The right lateral, Timchik, fired, and the left, Kornienko, fired powerfully into the near upper corner. 0: 1.

The goal allowed the players of the Ukrainian national team to act more relaxed, and the fans of the blue and yellows in the stands came to life. However, the problems in the center of defense did not go away, and Boyko had to save the situation after the blow of Zmrgal.

After the break, the Czech team continued to operate as the number one. The hosts threatened Boyko's goal from the standards, punched from afar, served to the penalty area. In the 67th minute Tecl after a shot from the right flank even shot into the post. The Ukrainians tried to respond with counterattacks and could well consolidate their advantage in the score, when four came out against two opponents, but Zubkov's transfer did not find a target. In the last minutes, Boyko pulled Sadilek's shot, however, it was not possible to keep the winning result. In overtime, Otter set the final score - 1: 1.

Other debuts as a member of the Ukrainian national team took place in the second half - Bulets and Kochergin came on as substitutes.

The next match of the blue and yellows will be held on October 9 in Helsinki - against Finland in the qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
