2023 World Cup among women's teams. The first matches in the qualifying group of the national team of Ukraine took place

September 16-17 in the European group In the qualification for the 2023 World Cup, matches took place with the participation of rivals of the national team of Ukraine.

On the first day of selection in the UEFA zone, the Faroe Islands lost to Spain at home - 0:10, and for the day Hungary lost to Scotland - 0: 2. The national team of Ukraine, the fifth participant in this quintet, will join the tournament next month. On October 21, Natalia Zinchenko's wards will play at home against the Faroe Islands, and on October 26 - against Spain. On November 26, the blue and yellows will face Scotland away, and on November 30 - Hungary.

The women's national team of Ukraine will hold four more matches of the 2023 World Cup qualifying round in 2022. On April 8, our team will host Scotland, and on April 12 - Hungary. The Ukrainian will qualify with away matches on September 2 against the Faroe Islands and on September 6 against Spain.

The 51 national teams will play in a two-round tournament with home and away matches in nine groups: three groups of five teams (A-C) and six groups of six teams (D-I). The matches of this stage will take place in the period from September 2021 to September 2022.

Group B: Spain, Scotland, Ukraine, Hungary, Faroe Islands.

Group C: The Netherlands, Iceland, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Cyprus.

Nine group winners will go directly to the 2023 World Cup. The second teams of the groups will continue to fight in the next stage.

Playoffs

The nine teams that take second place in the groups will advance to the playoffs, which will consist of two stages.

The top three among the second teams will have the opportunity to play directly in the second stage of the playoffs. The remaining six participants will compete for three passes in single-match confrontations in the first stage. The three winners of the first round and the three teams that advanced directly to the second stage will determine the three winners of the UEFA playoffs in one-match duels.

The two winners of the second-ranked UEFA playoffs (criteria applied to the results of the group stage plus the playoffs of the second round) will receive two automatic places at the 2023 World Cup, while the third winner will continue his journey in the intercontinental playoffs.
