After the away victory over Obolon (1:0) Veres players were one step closer to the result of their previous performance in the cup tournament, when they made it to the quarterfinals.

- "Obolon" made a pleasant impression with its fighting spirit, aggressiveness in the offensive, - said the head coach of "Veres" Yuri Wirth after the match of the 1/16 finals of the Cup of Ukraine in a comment to the official website of the UAF. - It took a lot of effort to win. Although in fairness it should be clarified that compared to the last calendar match in the championship, we made seven substitutions at once. And it is gratifying that the players, so to speak, did not fail the rotation.

By the way, due to the removal of Mykhailo Hechev, Veres had to play in the minority in the second half, but this did not derail my wards, but only forced them to mobilize. When we added momentum at the end of the match, the hosts were not ready for it. In one of the attacks, Mikhail Shestakov earned a penalty, and although his first shot from the 11-meter mark, the goalkeeper of the "Brewers" parried, our striker was the first to finish. Of course, I am happy for the wards, and most of all for Shestakov, because before the match it became known that his wife gave him a son. And he marked this event with a winning goal.

Who would you like to meet in the next round? I haven't thought about it yet, because it's time for an important confrontation with Shakhtar in the UPL championship. But I do not hide that it is very tempting to approach the honorary trophy as close as possible…
