Vitaliy Odegov: "In early November, the youth national team of Ukraine will go to Portugal"

Head coach of the youth national futsal team of Ukraine U-19 Vitaliy Odegov summed up the results of the last training camp in Brovary.

In preparation for main round of selection of Euro-2022 On September 24-27, the blue-and-yellow team held an NTZ in Brovary. After its completion, the team's head coach Vitaliy Odegov commented to the press service Futsal Association of Ukraine press service.

- Vitaliy Oleksiyovych, how do you assess the training camp that the team held in Brovary?

- A small training cycle was held, which resulted in a match with the Sky Up team. We have formulated tasks for working out certain components of the game. I was satisfied with his performance.

— Compared to the tournament "Futsal Week »the composition of the team has changed a bit. Who could not be summoned to this meeting due to various aspects?

- Mykola Huivan, who is the captain and the main goalkeeper of the team, did not come to NFC Uragan. Andriy Britan and Mykola Khomyak from Hurricane-2-KFV were also injured.

— Artem Schur and Yuriy Yaremchuk made their debut as part of the team at this meeting. How would you rate their actions?

- We have already planned to call Artem several times, but injuries and illnesses did not allow us to get to know him better. This time everything worked out. As a result of a rather short gathering and participation in only one fight, it is always difficult for a newcomer to fully show his abilities. However, I can say that he has the potential to fight for a place in the national team. As for Yuri Yaremchuk, he is a very young guy born in 2005. He helped us close the goalkeeper position at this meeting. We consider Yuriy as a candidate for the U-17 national team. He is physically ready for the U-19 national team, but from a psychological and moral point of view - not yet.

— Now the guys are getting more and more playing minutes in the elite division. Obviously, you as a coach can not help but rejoice.

- Of course, players who have not only training but also playing time - gain invaluable experience of matches in the top division. The playing practice of futsal players in the Parimatch Extra-League is crucial for the overall quality of the national team's game.

— During the meeting in Brovary, fights with the capital's amateur teams became something commonplace, given the situation with the coronavirus? This time the youth team managed to beat "Sky Up ", and if we analyze these confrontations in general, the advantage in them is on the side of young futsal players.

- The answer to this question follows from the past. The players of our team are at a pretty good level and are representatives of the teams of the first league, as well as Parimatch Extra-league. They get this practice and beat amateur teams because they have experience playing with stronger opponents.

— What are the future plans for the U-19 and U-17 youth teams?

- In early November, the youth national team of Ukraine U-19 will go to Portugal, where they will hold two friendly matches with their peers. As for the U-17 team, at the end of October it will conduct NTZ on the territory of Ukraine.
