Veterans of FC Karpaty became the winners of the charity match for the Lviv Cup
On the eve of the match Ukraine - Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Lviv stadium "Falcon" a charity match "Lviv Cup" took place.
For the second time, veterans of FC Karpaty and the team of journalists of Ukraine met in the cup confrontation. The main purpose of this match, which has already become a good tradition, was to help orphans.
The match was organized by the Ukrainian Football Association, the Lviv Football Association, the Ukrainian Premier League, the News Center news agency, and the Football Development of Ukraine Charitable Foundation.
The football holiday took place thanks to the sponsors of the match - the museum and cultural complex "Lvivarnya" and the Ukrainian development company ENSO.

The match was attended by honorary guests: President of the Ukrainian Football Association, UEFA Executive Committee member Andriy Pavelko, First Vice President of UAF Vadym Kostyuchenko, Vice President of UAF, President of Lviv Football Association Oleksandr Shevchenko, President of FC Karpaty Stepan Yurchyshyn, legendary Ukrainian coach Myron Markevych and Carlsberg Ukraine Marketing Director Anton Panasenko.
Before the match, the anthem of Ukraine was performed by the poet, composer, soloist of the highest category of the brass band of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sagaidachny, founder of the Art School ILkiv School, famous Ukrainian singer Marianna Ilkiv.
UAF First Vice President Vadym Kostyuchenko noted that football united the legends of the Carpathians and the legends of journalism in a charity match.

In general, veterans of FC Karpaty and the team of journalists met on the football field for the third time, and in the cup confrontation - for the second time. In 2018, Karpaty lost to the media on penalties.
So now the people of Lviv were ready for revenge. Their head coach Gabor Vaida gave a clear instruction not to lose.
From the first minutes of the match, the masters of sports showed the sharks of the pen the highest class, but the first goal was scored by journalists. In the 22nd minute Vyacheslav Shevchuk gave a goal pass to his Lviv colleague Oleg Chunis, and he closed the far post with a shot to the right corner of the goal.
At the end of the second half, the head coach of Lviv Karpaty Andriy Tlumak equalized.

The fate of the match was decided by a series of post-match penalties. This time Fortuna was on the side of the veterans of the Carpathians, who became the winners of the Lviv Cup-2021.
And the main winners in the charity match were orphans from the Center for Child Support at the Lyceum "Education" and children from the Orphanage № 1 in Lviv, who received from the organizers and sponsors sports gifts and the opportunity to play football at a professional level.

UAF President Andriy Pavelko congratulated the Carpathians on their victory and wished the teams to pass on to our main team the energy they give to children.
"Today's match showed that our veterans and journalists are showing a good class. And let's not forget about the social mission! We wish our young fans, who came to the match, to succeed and become stars of Ukrainian football in the future, "Pavelko said.

LAF President Oleksandr Shevchenko noted that it is very nice that such matches take place annually.
"Our job is to develop and promote this sport. By their example, the teams showed the children that they need to go out on the field and pave a healthy path to success, "Shevchenko said.
