Oleg Shaitanov: "We faced one of the best national teams in Europe"
The head coach of the Ukrainian women's futsal team Oleh Shaitanov summed up the results of away friendly matches with Portugal.
In preparation for main qualifying round of Euro-2022 Ukraine's women's futsal team met Portugal in Rio Mayor. In both sparring blue-yellow lost - 1:8 and 0:4.
After the second match, the head coach of the Ukrainian team Oleh Shaitanov commented to the press service Futsal Association of Ukraine press service.
- What general assessment can you give to both friendly matches against Portugal?
- We faced one of the best national teams in Europe. For us, the fights seemed quite difficult, but we were counting on it. Even at the stage of planning preparations for the main round of the Euro, I asked the AFU leadership to hold two matches with a top-level team.
- How did these two meetings differ?
- They were similar to each other. Portugal dominated. However, in the second match we looked more focused and aggressive.
- Can you agree that the team scored more in the second match?
- Indeed, in the second match the team created several moments that we were obliged to realize. However, the dangerous moment is not a goal.
- What conclusions should the national team draw before the matches in Lviv?
- The matches were very informative. We have five days to correct the shortcomings. After such meetings, I want to work even harder to entertain Ukrainian fans during the home matches of the main round.
- What will be the composition of the national team for the second part of the training camp?
- In the full "Portuguese" lineup, we are moving to Lviv, where we will be joined by Yulia Forsyuk and Ksenia Hrytsenko.
