The national team of Ukraine drew in a friendly match with the national team of Bulgaria

On the eve of the final match of the group tournament of the European qualification of the World Cup-2022, the national team of Ukraine held a sparring match with the Bulgarians in Odessa.

Five days before the decisive match, against the Bosnians, Oleksandr Petrakov set up a completely blue and yellow lineup, close to optimal. Artem Dovbyk started the game for the national team for the first time in his career from the starting minutes. Unlike all previous matches this fall, the team did not have three, but two central defenders, a pair of which were Kryvtsov and Matvienko.

The first attack of the Ukrainians almost brought success. Yarmolenko broke into the Bulgarian's penalty area and threw the ball from the front into the far post, where Zinchenko ran in, but Oleksandr's shot didn't work. In seven minutes this two-run almost repeated, but this time Zinchenko punched his head, however, the result was the same. The next moment was also created by the captain of the hosts, but Zubkov did not use Yarmolenko's transfer properly. Dovbyk then sent the ball into the opponents' net after Timchyk's shot, but did so from offside.

The Bulgarians did not try to put pressure on Petrakov's wards, and when they first tried to do so, they immediately received a sharp attack with a final blow from Zinchenko, which, fortunately for the guests, was blocked. The Bulgarian national team was lucky in the future, because the blue and yellows, even in the positional attack, easily found free zones near the opponent's goal and created moment by moment.

Having demonstrated in the first half a rather rich arsenal of experience in the attack, the national team of Ukraine, despite this, did not realize any of the dozen and a half created moments. During their few attacks, the Bulgarian team relied more on the individual actions of its own technical performers, but, by and large, failed to create something serious at the gates of Bushchan. The guests scored after an open gift from the national team of Ukraine. After the ball was introduced into the game by the Bulgarian goalkeeper, Matvienko failed to light a "candle", and Tymchyk did not hold Kirilov. 0: 1.

After the break, three new players came out of the Ukrainians, including the debutant goalkeeper Riznyk. The bombing of the Bulgarian goal resumed from the first minutes of the second half, but with the same result - Zinchenko discharged the gun into the rack, and Yaremchuk scored past the target. When Yarmolenko finally scored, for the second time in the match the goal was canceled due to the "out of play" situation. And in the 58th minute Yaremchuk did not use a magnificent chance, not hitting the goal from the goal line.

Even when the blue and yellow managed to break into the plane, the Bulgarian goalkeeper stood in the way of the ball. Both the experienced Mikhailov and the young Vutsov, who replaced him after the break, acted very well in Odessa. Both Malinovsky's cannon shot from afar and Yarmolenko's close shot were parried by the Bulgarian debutant. As well as a dozen others from the Ukrainians.

And only in the 79th minute Stepanenko equalized, finishing the attack of the hosts at the second pace after the removal of the Bulgarian defenders. As a result, having demonstrated a spectacular attacking game, the national team of Ukraine ended the match with a score of 1: 1, which has recently become commonplace.
