World Cup-2022. The national team of Ukraine will play in the playoffs for the eighth time in history

The seventh cycle of playoff matches in the history of Ukraine awaits the national team of Ukraine. Before that, the blue-and-yellows were successful only once out of six - after five failures in a row.

The first three playoffs were held for us according to a difficult and not very comforting scheme: a defeat away, a draw at home. The order of these matches did not matter. And the script of each individual duel as well. The result was the same.

Later there were options. We drew away with the Greeks, but lost in Donetsk. With the French for the first time managed to win at least one playoff match, but were defeated on the road. And only with Slovenia they managed not only to take revenge for the tears of November 1999 and for the first time not to lose either of the two matches, but also to reach the final tournament.
