Lluis Cortes named the squad of the women's national team of Ukraine for the 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Hungary

Head coach of the women's national team of Ukraine Lluis Cortes, hired for this position on November 17, unveiled a list of players of the national team that will prepare for XNUMX World Cup qualifying matches against Scotland and Hungary.

22 players have been called up to the training camp, which starts on November 2023 in Kyiv, to prepare for and participate in the next qualifying matches of the 22 World Cup, the Ukrainian Association of Women's Football reports.. The 51 national teams will play in a two-round tournament with home and away matches in nine groups: three groups of five teams (A-C) and six groups of six teams (D-I). The matches of this stage will take place in the period from September 2021 to September 2022.

Group B: Spain, Scotland, Ukraine, Hungary, Faroe Islands.

Group E: Denmark, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Malta, Montenegro.

Group F: Norway, Belgium, Poland, Albania, Kosovo, Armenia.

Group G: Italy, Switzerland, Romania, Croatia, Moldova, Lithuania.

Group H: Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Israel, Turkey, Bulgaria.

Nine group winners will go directly to the 2023 World Cup. The second teams of the groups will continue to fight in the next stage.


The nine teams that take second place in the groups will advance to the playoffs, which will consist of two stages.

The top three among the second teams will have the opportunity to play directly in the second stage of the playoffs. The remaining six participants will compete for three passes in single-match confrontations in the first stage. The three winners of the first round and the three teams that advanced directly to the second stage will determine the three winners of the UEFA playoffs in one-match duels.

The two winners of the second-ranked UEFA playoffs (criteria applied to the results of the group stage plus the playoffs of the second round) will receive two automatic places at the 2023 World Cup, while the third winner will continue his journey in the intercontinental playoffs.
