The national team of Ukraine in the UEFA League of Nations: a historical perspective
Before today's match of the League of Nations-2022/2023 in Dublin with Ireland (21.45) we will remember the performances of the national team of Ukraine in this tournament.
In the premiere draw of the competition, the blue and yellows started in the V League. Andriy Shevchenko's team managed to overtake the Czech Republic and Slovakia and make it to the top division.
In the League of Nations 2020/2021, our team tried itself in the company of the strongest teams and even beat Spain at home. Unfortunately, the match between Switzerland and Ukraine in the last round was canceled. According to the decision of the UEFA SCC, our team was credited with a technical defeat with a score of 0: 3. Due to this result, the blue and yellows took the last place in the group and will hold the third draw in League B.
It will be recalled that the winners of the first two cycles of the League of Nations were the national teams of Portugal and France.
