Futsal Euro 2022. Ukraine defeated Kazakhstan and reached the semifinals!

In the quarterfinal match of the European Futsal Championship, the national team of Ukraine defeated Kazakhstan and broke a series of failures at this stage.

In the group round of the European Championship blue-yellows lost to Netherlands (2:3), defeated Serbia (6:1) and lost to Portugal0:1), but took second place in the quartet and made it to the playoffs. The national team of Ukraine reached the quarterfinals of the Euro for the sixth time in a row, and this time the team had to resist Kazakhstan, the fourth team in the UEFA rankings.

The good news for Oleksandr Kosenko was the return of Razuvanov, Pedyash and Radevych and Zvarych, who was injured in the game with Portugal, but eventually included to the application. Instead, Farenyuk still could not help the team. However, the Kazakhs also had squad problems due to the lack of banned Edson and Tainan.

The beginning of the match seemed nervous, without dangerous moments. In the middle of the first half, the Kazakhs had several scoring opportunities - Tursagulov hit the post, Orazov and Igita checked Tsypun's reaction. In the 14th minute, the Kazakhstan goalkeeper coped with the attempts of Lebid and Zvarych.

At the end of the half, the Ukrainians took the lead thanks to Shoturma's goal from the penalty spot earned by Korsun. Abakshyn soon headed dangerously, but Igita showed safe hands. In the 19th minute Chernyavskyi went past several opponents, but hit the post. The Kazakhs could have levelled before the whistle for the break, but after a great combination Douglas hit the crossbar.

At the beginning of the second half, the teams exchanged several shots on goal, and in the 25th minute, after a great throw by Zvarych, Korsun sent the ball into the opponent's goal. Being on the back foot - 0: 2, the Kazakhs began to actively attract Igita, playing five on the other half, for which they paid. In the 30th minute Zvarych scored in an empty net, later Abakshнn in a similar situation shot into the post.

After that, Tsypun entered the game several times, but after a powerful shot by Douglas, our goalkeeper could not help. Later, the naturalized Brazilian struck several more dangerous shots, but this time Kyrylo was on top. Later, Tsypun himself could score, but twice did not hit the opponent's empty net. In turn, the Kazakhs in the 38th minute reduced the gap to a minimum - Orazov hit the target.

However, the Ukrainians managed to avoid a nervous breakdown, as Razuvanov managed to hit an empty net in one of the episodes. In a few moments, the fifth goal of our team was scored by Lebid. Later, Orazov made a double, and Douglas aimed at the post, but the Kazakhs did not have enough time for more. As a result, 5: 3 - Oleksandr Kosenko's wards are advancing to the semifinals. Ukrainians will play at this stage for the first time in 17 years.

Thus, on the sixth attempt, the national team of Ukraine managed to overcome the quarterfinal stage of the European Championships. On February 4, in the semifinals, the blue-yellows will play the winner of the Russia - Georgia tie.
