Yulia Khrystyuk: "The match with Bulgaria showed that the youth is ready to reach the level of players of the national team"
Midfielder of the Ukrainian women's national team Yulia Khrystyuk spoke about the victory over Bulgaria in the final match of the Turkish Women's Cup 2022, which brought the blue and yellows first place in prestigious international competitions during the training camp in Turkey.
It will be recalled that the Ukrainians defeated the Bulgarian with a score of 2-0, and the 18-year-old player of the American club "Old Dominion University" became the author of the goal and the effective transfer. This is the first ball for a talented football player in the national team.
"First of all, it's nice to win. In my opinion, it was a difficult game. In the first two matches more experienced football players played, and in this match the youth got their chance. Maybe not so sure, but we were able to win. I think I managed to score due to the desire to prove myself. Inna Glushchenko also scored a goal. This shows that women's football is developing in our country, and young people are ready to receive playing minutes in the national team, and in the future - to reach the level of players of the national team.
The competition in the national team is intensifying. 31 players went to Turkey for this training camp, and different players were included in the application for each match. Even in training, it was clear that the level of players did not differ much. I think that experienced players will go to the next training camp, because the team will have very important matches. And for further training of the coach it will be difficult to choose 23 or even 30 players. Young people are developing and prefer to prove it on the football field.
It was a good training camp, we spent 10 days in Turkey and trained twice. Those players who did not qualify for the match maintained their form, went to the gym and for additional training. I think both those who played more and those who had fewer minutes of play received the same quality training. This is great, because the season is resuming, and it is important for each player to get in shape, "Yulia Khrystyuk summed up the results of the Turkish training camp of the Ukrainian team.
