Euro 2022 (U-17): Ukraine start in elite round with a win over Kosovo

At the start of the tournament, Oleg Kuznetsov's wardsеdefeated the national team of Kosovo, scoring twice in the second half.

For the Ukraine head coach Oleg Kuznetsov, the biggest problem was that his wards, in fact, have not had playing practice since last fall. This is what affected the debut of this game. There was a lot of confusion in the actions of our team, as well as in the actions of the opponent. However, Ukraine had more possession, while Kosovars tried to counterattack. It is worth noting the pitch, which was not of the best quality, plus there was a lot of challenges, so the medical staff often had to run in for help.

Only in the second half of the first half the advantage of the blue-yellows began to take real shape, but the ball did not go to the goal.

The debut of the second half was a continuation of the first 45 minutes. Within two minutes, Firman and Kremchanin's shots were blocked by the opponent's goalkeeper. In turn, the Kosovo team also responded dangerously. In the 55th minute Kaitazi hit the post. In the 73rd minute Kravets saved his goal after Blaki's shot, but Kremchanin took out some nervousness in two minutes, who opened the scoring after Derkach's pass.

Seven minutes before the end of regular time, Kremchanin could remove the question of the winner, but after his shot, the goalkeeper of the Kosovars turned the ball into a corner. But what Kremchanin failed to do, Husiev did in the injury time. By the way, Kremchanin became the author of the assist. The victory allows the blue-yellows to prepare for the next match against Poland, which will take place on April 90, in a good mood.

The final tournament will take place from May 16 to June 1 in Israel. 

Oleg Kuznetsov's wards will compete in Quartet A together with Israel, Germany and Luxembourg in the event of overcoming the elite round of selection in Group 6. If the Ukrainians choose the second place in their four qualifiers, they can get to Group B in France, the Netherlands and Bulgaria. But for this they will need to show a better result than in Hungary, which took second place in Group 1 with one gold point and a goal difference of -2.

Group A: Israel, Germany, winner of group 6, Luxembourg.

Group B: France, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Hungary or second team group 6.

Group C: Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Belgium.

Group D: Denmark, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden.

The two best teams from each group will reach the quarterfinals.
