The Ukrainian Premier League took part in the General Assembly of the Association of European Leagues
The General Assembly of the Association of European Leagues was held in Istanbul UPL took part in video conferencing format.
During the meeting, the election procedure to the Board of Directors of the Association of European Leagues was held, after which all participants considered and agreed on such issues as:
- AEL strategic plan;
- Memorandum of Understanding with UEFA;
- collective business areas (data rights, international media law, licensing);
- UEFA club competitions.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 28 European football leagues, as well as UEFA, FIFPro and WLF.
A separate topic of the General Assembly was the discussion of the extremely difficult situation in Ukraine. In his speech, UPL Executive Director Yevhen Dykyi described in detail the current state of affairs in which football clubs are forced to stay, and also appealed to all participants to financially support Ukrainian professional football.
As a result, the UPL agreed to continue direct dialogues with leading European leagues to help overcome the consequences of military aggression by Russia as soon as possible.
