WU-19: the draw for the first round of Euro 2023 for the youth women's national team of Ukraine will take place on May 31

The draw for the first qualifying round of the 31/2022 European Championship (WU-2023) will take place on 19 May at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

League A will feature 28 teams (including eight that have moved from League B following the second qualifying round of the 2021/2022 season, which ended this spring). They will be divided into seven groups. The teams of each group will perform in one arena in the format of mini-tournaments.

The fourth-place teams will continue their season in the second round of League B. The seeding of participants before the second round depends on which places in groups the teams will take in the first round. Belgium will also take part in the competition, despite a direct ticket to the finals, which belongs to it as the host.

League B teams (including those relegated from League A in the second round of the 2021/2022 season, as well as the Gibraltar national team, which participates in the UEFA women's tournaments for the first time) will compete for League A in seven groups. The winners of the groups will move to the top division.

The order of the draw

In the first round, 52 participants will be divided into League A (28 teams) and League B (24 teams) according to the rating based on the results of the second round in the 2021/2022 season.

In League A, the teams will be divided into seven quartets, in League B - into three quartets and four trios.

All teams in their leagues were divided into baskets (in League A - seven teams in each, in League B - seven teams in baskets 1 and 2, 10 - in basket 3). In each group of League A there will be one representative of each basket, and in League B each group will contain one team from the first and second baskets. Two teams from the third basket will go to groups B1, B2 and B3, another - in each of the other groups.

According to previously decided decisions of the UEFA Executive Committee and the UEFA Emergency Situations Working Group, the national teams of Armenia and Azerbaijan will not be able to get into one group.

After the draw, the hosts of the mini-tournaments will be determined. The matches will take place either from 30/31 August to 5/6 September, or from 4/5 to 11 October, or from 8/9 to 14/15 November 2022.

It should be noted that the youth national team of Ukraine WU-19 got into the basket 3 of League A.
