Euro-2022 (U-19): Ukraine's youth team kicks off in elite qualifying round to win over Norway

The wards of Volodymyr Yezerskyi successfully started the fight in the elite round of the Euro-2022 (U-19) qualifiers. To get to the final tournament, our guys need to take first place in the group.

In the opening match in Rotterdam, the blue and yellows met with the Norwegians, whose head coach of our team Volodymyr Yezersky calling favorites of the quartet. The task of our footballers was complicated by the fact that since last fall they have not had playing practice due to the suspension of all competitions. There was another problem - due to injuries, the team could not help Hoopoe, Chrome and Shostak.

The first half of the game was equal, and the only blow to the plane in 45 minutes was made by the Norwegians. There were enough fights and fouls on the field, the Ukrainians had a significant advantage in corners.

The second half was much richer in events. First, Yarmolyuk scored a penalty for Gopland's foul on Roman. After that, the players of both teams regularly disturbed the goalkeepers. In the 69th minute, the Scandinavians managed to recover, and also from the penalty spot. And the fate of three points was determined after another penalty. This time Yarmolyuk did not beat the goalkeeper, but Sapuga was the first to finish.

At the end of the match, Malysh scored another goal for our team after coming on as a substitute, assisted by the same Yarmolyuk. The Norwegians only managed to reduce the gap in the time added by the referee.

In the end, the Ukrainians won 3: 2, so they will be in a good mood to prepare for the match with the Serbs, which will take place on June 4.
