The final part of the European Championship 2022 (U-17) has ended in Israel. The national teams of France and the Netherlands met in the decisive match.
In the semifinals, both teams were stronger than their rivals only in the penalty shootout. France defeated Portugal (2: 2, on penalties - 6: 5), and the Netherlands - Serbia (2: 2, on penalties - 5: 3).
Today there was no breakthrough 11-meter. Despite the fact that the score was opened by the Dutch, the French thanks to a double by Sael Cumbede managed to win a strong-willed victory - 2: 1.
Thus, the French national team became the European champion in the U-17 age category for the third time in its history. Previously, this achievement was subordinated to her in 2004 and 2015.
