"Open football lessons" in Uzhgorod on Children's Day

On the International Children's Day "Open Football Lessons" started in Uzhgorod. The leadership of the region joined the organization and holding of the football holiday together with the Ukrainian Football Association and the Transcarpathian Football Association.

"This event was held for children who were forced to move to Transcarpathia, fleeing with their families from the war," said the head of the region Viktor Mykita, adding that the lessons were held as part of a project initiated by the Ukrainian Football Association.

"As part of the project, Transcarpathian schools received a large number of sports equipment for football events, and each child who participated in the event received a T-shirt and a participant's diploma as a gift," said the head of the OVA.

The event was also attended by Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Ihor Shinkaryuk, Deputy Mayor of Uzhhorod Vasyl Homonai, Head of the Transcarpathian Football Association Ivan Duran, UAF Project Coordinator Yevhen Stolitenko and UAF Coordination Center Member Vitaliy Danylchenko.

Victor Naskalov, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of the Transcarpathian Football Federation, Anastasia Penzova, Senior Instructor of the Football Federation of Ukraine, and Vadym Gyord, Director of the Uzhhorod Football School, coordinated all the work of local volunteers.

Well-known coaches and ex-footballers, such as Oleg Dopilka, conducted excellent master classes for children from 14 educational institutions in Uzhhorod, including many IDPs. The psychological direction of the project was successfully implemented by Valeria Dragunova, and an inflammatory warm-up for all children was conducted by fitness trainer Kateryna Dziamko.

During the activities, IDP families were provided with a large number of humanitarian kits (medicines, food, essentials) within the project.

The next day, children from Uzhhorod district should also join the event.

May 20-21 - Khmelnytsky region, Dunaivtsi;

May 21-22 - Chernivtsi region, Novoselytsia;

May 23-24 - Ternopil region, Buchach;

May 26-27 - Ternopil region, Zaliztsi;

May 26-27 - Khmelnytsky;

May 27-28 - Chernivtsi;

June 1-2 - Uzhhorod;

June 2-3 - Lviv region, Sosnivka;

June 3-4 - Transcarpathian region, Khust;

June 8-9 - Ivano-Frankivsk;

June 11-12 - Ivano-Frankivsk region, Nadvirna;

June 28-29 - Rivne region, Ostrog.

Other communities that have joined the project (dates expected):

Lviv region, Stryy / Morshyn;

Rivne.

All project activities are carried out in coordination with the regional military administrations.

It will be recalled that in April, special preparatory trainings for volunteers were held in seven regions participating in the project.

The overall goal of the Open Football Lessons project is to help protect IDP children, unaccompanied children, orphans and other vulnerable children affected by the war and forced to relocate to Western Ukraine. , Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions).

In addition to the overall goal, the project has three specific objectives:

- provide emergency humanitarian assistance (medicines, food and non-food items) to IDP children and their families;

- provide psychosocial support to children through a powerful social instrument of grassroots football, through games and open football events that will unite these target groups of children with local children;

- to provide material, technical and moral support to the united football cross-sectoral networks of the project in the western regions of Ukraine in their efforts to help the affected target groups of children.
